Setting goals for your business or artistic endeavors are going to be crucial to your success.  If you set goals or at least know what you want to achieve then you can prepare for it.  That’s where finance comes into play.  Finance is basically how you are investing in your business.  Understanding how to manage the finances of your business will be extremely important to your success.

How many employees can I afford to hire?  Do I have enough for a large marketing campaign?  Did we break-even this month?  This product isn’t selling very well compared to the others should I discontinue it?  Finance helps you answer all these questions and more.

Finance also tells you how well your company is doing.  If your profits are up you may want to expand your business.  If profits are down, looking at your finances can help you figure out why.
